Rachel C Snowdon

Rachel Snowdon is a London-born artist, printmaker, and writer based in Devon since 2009. She holds Master’s degrees from Central Saint Martins and Exeter University and has exhibited widely and internationally, including at TATE Modern, Blitz Gallery Malta, and Heart of the Tribe Gallery. Her writing appears in contemporary poetry anthology Prototype 1.

Primarily known for intricate linocuts, Rachel's practice has expanded into expressive monotypes referencing by personal photographs, text, and antique ephemera from a lifelong interest in the collecting and memorialising of objects. Rooted in social and natural history, these prints might seem conventionally decorative or whimsical at first glance, but they are also able stand alone as self-contained, often esoteric or tragicomic inner worlds that recall both folk-art and folk artefact.
