An original, completely handmade linocut bookmark which has been designed and printed in Devon, UK. Available in black or blue ink.
"Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay."
These 'Remember Me' are partly Christina Rossetti's poem; partly a small homage to the Victorian era and to its gothic-romantic mourning practices; but more than anything it's to help you remember your reading!
Each bookmark has been hand-printed onto heavyweight printmakers' paper, which has then been hand cut. The reverse also includes my 'chop mark' or traditional signature stamp.
DIMENSIONS: Total size: 7" x 2.5" approx.
Important: I cannot guarantee that your printed item will be the exact one shown in the example photographs in the shop. As everything is handmade, there will inevitably be some slight variations with each printing; likewise coloured prints with hand-mixed inks may vary slightly in pigment between batches. This is all part of the charm and uniqueness of your purchase, as no two items will be exactly the same! If the paper has been cut or torn by hand, please also expect very minor differences in size.
