Poison Bottle - Lino Printed Cotton Fabric Patch
Share
A bright organic cotton voile fabric patch hand-printed with a quirky and original linocut motif of a Victorian poison bottle surrounded by mushrooms. It has been designed and printed in Devon, UK.
Available in a black ink on green/red patch, or a white ink on blue patch.
These 'Poison Bottle' patches reference the curious and beautiful medicine or poison bottles from the 19th and early 20th centuries, which were embossed with 'poison' or 'poisonous' to deter accidental ingestion!
Perfect as a fun and unique way to mend a hole or cover a stain, or stitch onto a rucksack, jacket or incorporate into another craft such as quilting!
DIMENSIONS:
Printed image size: 3" x 2.75"
Total size of each patch: 5" x 5" approx.
HOW TO:
Fold over and iron press the raw edges, pin in its desired place and then secure with whip stitches.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Hand washing is preferable, but these patches can be machine washed on delicate at 30ºC. The ink on the patch will fade gently on the first wash, but in my opinion, this lends a lovely vintage feel to the design! Iron cool on the reverse.
Important: I cannot guarantee that your printed patch will be the exact one shown in the example photographs in the shop. As everything is handmade, there will inevitably be some slight variations with each printing; likewise patches with coloured inks are hand-mixed and so may vary slightly in pigment between batches. This is all part of the charm and uniqueness of your purchase, as no two items will be exactly the same! As the fabric has been cut by hand, please also expect very minor differences in size.
